Commonly referred to as Lapis, an opaque dark blue rock made up of several minerals. Lapis having a royal blue color with shimmering inclusions of pyrite and calcite is considered to be the best quality. Denim Lapis is a less pure form of Lapis Lazuli which is generaly a lighter blue than pure Lapis often containing webbing of host stone.
