Once called the Inca Rose because Incas were thought to have mined it centuries ago. May be transparent, translucent or opaque. Colored by manganese in shades of pink from pale salmon to bright watermelon. May be textured with lacy bands of white, and pieces cut from stalactites often have cocentric rings or eyes. A portrait in pink.
